Lack of Mental Health Awareness among the Indian adolescent population.

Lack of emphasis on social and emotional competencies in the Indian academic curriculum.
Project objectives
The project was built with an aim to enrich the social, emotional, and mental well-being of adolescents by equipping them with all the skills required to lead a mentally healthy life. The primary beneficiaries of the project will be students from the Government schools of India and Orphanage homes.
Project Implementation Structure
The project will be executed in three steps:
i. Equipping Students with Social skills, and emotional skills and The Bright Side Foundation promoting positive mental health.

ii. Equipping Teachers with skills to enhance their own mental well-being and to create empowering classrooms.
​
iii. Building safe spaces.

GMR Varalakshmi Foundation (GMRVF) works toward bringing sustainable development through systematically planned initiatives in Education, Health and Empowerment. GMRVF has tied up with The Bright Side Foundation to fund Project Wind Beneath The Wings and empower adolescents of our nation with Social and Emotional Learning Skills and Competencies. Through this collaboration, Project Wind Beneath The Wings was implemented in 6 schools and orphanages in different cities of Telangana, Delhi and Rajasthan.
